BIG SHOTS! BY PHILLIP LEEDS

“I met Phillip way back, in ’95 or ’96, and he was always the guy who would say, ‘Let’s take a picture’.”

–Pharrell Williams. From the Introduction to Big Shots! Volume One

Just as the Polaroids featured in “Andy Warhol: Red Books” defined Warhol’s generation of artists, similarly BIG SHOTS! is a collection of photographs that captures the energy of the worlds of music and fashion alike.  Shot by Phillip Leeds on a vintage Polaroid camera called The Big Shot, these photographs offer a visual of record pop culture from the 2004 through to the present.

A compilation of previously unpublished work, each volume of BIG SHOTS! offers more than 400 Polaroids of artists and figures including Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, Beck, Andre Leon Talley, Gwen Stefani, Lewis Hamilton, Jay Z, Questlove, and Rita Ora, David Byrne, SZA. D-Nice, Megan Thee Stallion and countless others.  BIG SHOTS! gives readers a unique and intimate look over a 20 year span as cultural icons crossed in front of Phillip’s camera and shared through the ever-nostalgic format of the Polaroid.
